Colorful dialogue

People may think that some artists turn to abstract art because they can’t properly learn drawing. After all, common sense says that painting "blurs" is much easier than painting a detailed picture. That might be true sometimes, but it doesn’t matter at all.

When contemplating a work of abstract art , spectators have the opportunity to let perceptions take them anywhere they want. Often, they can see something that not even the artist saw, or thought of, while creating. Abstract art, therefore, is an invitation to freedom for the viewer, who can observe, imagine and create a connection of their own with the art work .

One of the rules of abstract art is to deal with elements that are not present in nature. That’s why Tania doesn’t represent things we´re used to seeing. Her works contain an intense dialogue she carries on with abstract symbols, and her paintings reveal an interesting relationship with colors.

Tania’ work has the solar qualities of the arid Brazilian northeast. The colors come alive and are vibrant, although not aggressively so. They stimulate one´s perception and comprise an invitation to play the game between the artist and the viewer.
